    Our expertise

    Raw materials

Our AJ Biais warehouses hold over 1,000 types of fabric in a wide variety of materials (warp and weft, knit, dyed and woven, imitation leather, coated textiles, etc.). Our specialised design teams can therefore make textile accessories that are just right for you.

    Cutting on the bias

Several elements are needed to cut a fabric on the bias. It is important to define several terms to explain the work we do every day in our high quality production workshops.

    Our expertise

    Cutting

At AJ Biais, we have a number of different ways of cutting fabrics. For all kinds of supple textiles of 30 – 400 grams per sq. m., our teams can perform cold die cutting, with circular blade (known as cross-cutting), for tape widths of 6 mm or more, as well as cold or hot roll cutting, for widths of 10 mm or over.

After slicing, we can also perform cold cutting, heat cutting or ultra sound cutting, straight or across, with or without markings, and cold format cutting.

    Our expertise

    Welding

Our teams use two types of welding in our workshops at AJ Biais. The first one is continuous ultra sound welding. This enables us to join or assemble fabrics that can be thermo-welded in US, stiff or stretch.

High frequency welding can create bias cuts on synthetic coated materials.

    Our expertise

    Assemblage

The secret of a good textile assembly lies in the products being properly guided. Making guides and assembling are part of our brand DNA and represent the ancestral skills of the workshop teams. Today we have over 2,000 guides to make textile accessories of very high quality. This collection of guides enables our company to offer numerous different solutions and make a large number of textile projects. But our strength also lies in the ability of the teams to make guides to measure according to your needs.

    32Dec_2461

If you want to add a print to your textile accessories, our production teams offer two solutions: offset printing on bias binding, from 1 to 4 colours, with very delicate patterns, and silk screen printing on bias binding which can also be done on elastic fabrics for excellent pattern cover.
